The album ‘Rainbow’ is the brain child of the renowned ghatam artiste, Sukanya Ramgopal, who has been instrumental in introducing the ‘Ghata Tarang’ with her original compositions, a concept, never used before in the Carnatic percussion domain. Along with her all-women percussion ensemble ‘Stree Taal Tarang’, formed in 1992, this album is the handiwork of seven women artistes whose deft and delicate fingers have woven a tapestry of resounding music to lull the ears of music lovers.

The concept of this album is absolutely democratic, without any individual instrument ‘stealing the show’. Rainbow is the rich rhythmic hue designed to install and consecrate the position of the upakpakka vadhya artistes,
